the one with the birthday

last thursday started off with an entertaining show during breakfast which entailed peek-a-boo, carson's hand people jumping on the plate, throwing of place mats and plates on the floor and a thorough enjoyment of drinking milk...



following breakfast a jaunt into the backyard was in order. carson has a new game he plays with tyler called "you think i am going to throw the ball for you but instead you can chase me around while i play keep away, but then once you actually get the ball i will scream no at you so you think you are doing something wrong even though this is not how the game fetch is usually played."



in the afternoon, we went for a swim with some friends and had a great time. carson loves the water but still is hesitant to let me let go of him in the water. as long as i have at least a hand on him he is fine. he did jump off the diving board to me in the water and he thought it was a blast.



then friday i took mackenzie and two of her friends to schlitterbaun and had a great time. i love water parks. they are one of my favorite things to do. saturday i went with some friends to mighty fine for dinner, then saw the movie julie & julia, which i really liked minus the very unnecessary f-bomb. but still good and very cute. after we went and got frozen yogurt we went hot tubbing/swimming. my very good friend heather got me balloons and a crown to wear. i felt very loved....


yesterday - my actual birthday - i went to the downtown singles ward for sacrament. which was very good and i am planning on going there in the mornings on sunday and then carson and i will attend our normal family ward at 1 pm. i am really trying to get more involved and get to know more singles in the austin area - this is harder than it seems though. we shall see how it goes. my other very good friend shana brought me a birthday cupcake from hello cupcake - and it was very scrumptious. then some dear family friends - the bonners - brought me a cake and everyone sang happy birthday. overall a great weekend, and i got/rented a couple of dvds making for a good movie watching weekend as well. trying to be optimistic about being 24 and the rest of the year. another year older and occasionally wiser...
