imagination central - not just a station but the whole kit and caboodle.

carson loves many things.

carson right now loves super heros.

imagine his delight when mimi got him an iron man costume.

imagine the pain, tears and torture involved with getting him out of it for anything.

he may or may not have slept in it the other night.

this morning i told him it was time to get dressed. He, of course, wanted to wear his iron man costume.  i first cringed at the idea of him walking around in society in an iron man costume only because the behaviors that accompany wearing the costume.  imagine lots of laser gun shooting noises and hiya kicks.  many scripted scenarios of: mom you say "help me iron man (with various interesting needs for my screaming for help) which then are followed by carson coming and saving the day.  with lost of affirmations about how awesome and strong iron man is. then my mind things about how blasted hot it is and how he will fry in a full length costume.

but then i remembered how my amazing mother always allowed us girls to express our creativity.  so, a deal was made.  the first time carson does not behave like iron man - i.e. hitting, punching, yelling, not minding or whining.  the iron man costume comes off.  cause iron man is always on his best behavior.

who am i to stifle his imagination?  even if i feel ridiculous acting out hero stories in public or if just looking at carson makes me want to dump a gallon of water on his head cause he will be so hot.  as my sister angie always says...fun is good. and creativity is as much apart of fun as dr. seuss.
